Imec & Holst Develop NO2 Sensor Based On InAs Nanowires

The two research organizations have developed a vertically-grown InAs sensor for measuring ultra-low concentrations of NO2 which is an environmental pollutant.
A team headed by Dr. Takashi Kuroda, Senior Researcher, and Dr. Marco Abbarchi, Researcher, of the Quantum Dot Research Center, National Institute for Materials Science (NIMS), in joint research with Hokkaido University, succeeded in controlling the few-particle quantum state of a semiconductor quantum dot, and changing its correlation energies.

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co, the world's top contract microchip maker, said on Dec. 21 that it will raise research and development spending by nearly 40% to record levels next year.
Chip order rates are headed back up toward shipment levels, as a confluence of tech product cycles and demand for industrial capital goods means another year of growth.
